Question from a subscriber: Here is a nice and simple tutorial I found on how to slice WAV / AIF samples in Propellerheads Reason NN-XT advanced sampler, when you don't have Recycle. Requires Reason 2.0 and higher. Again, this is a good tutorial on how to 'chop samples' inside Reason's NN-XT - no external editor is used in this example.
All 'chops' are done on Reason! This may be a little advanced for complete newbies, but follow along and you will be ahead of the game in using the feature-rich Reason NN-XT advanced sampler.

Watch the video below and take the quiz at the bottom of the page. If you need a bit of extra help with the videos, then by all means read the accompanying written content (the written content on this page simply restates what was said in the video). Make sure you set the video below to at least ' 720p HD', if not ' 1080p HD', and then set it to Fullscreen as well. Otherwise the video won't display properly, and it will be quite difficult to follow the tutorial. You can set it to 1080p HD by clicking the little Gearbox icon at the bottom of the video, and clicking ' 1080p HD'. You can set the video to fullscreen by choosing the very bottom-right button in the video. NN-XT Basics The NN-XT sampler is one of the most useful tools inside reason.
Import reason instruments to use them in the sampler. Import sounds (.wav or.aiff files) to use audio files as if they were an instrument.
Manipulate the sounds using the LFO's and effects that the NNXT has in store Right Click an empty space in the rack NNXT Advanced Sampler. Use the folder icon to choose other preset instruments Use the arrow by the 'Remote Editor' text to open up the remote editor. When a.wav file is loaded into reason, you can set which keys the sample is activated. If a sample covers multiple keys, reason will automatically transpose the sounds up or down.
Reason transposes these keys by speeding up or slowing down the sample. This is a disadvantage in my opinion, as just pitch shifting the keys would work much better. Importing Your Own Samples To import your own samples:. Windows 7 orjinal yapma program indir gezginler. Right click the NN-XT, and 'Initialize Patch'. Click the folder button in the remote editor.
When searching for your own samples, make sure you have the options set to 'Local Disk', rather than 'Current Folder'. Find a.wav of your own, and load it into the NN-XT. About using samples:.

You can play samples using the keyboard. You can even play chords with any sample that you load into Reason. When you play a chord, the samples (if Reason transposed them) will play at different speeds. This creates a different effect than if Reason had transposed the notes without changing the speed. The most common file types that the NN-XT will accept are.wav and.aiff. You can create these types of files using iTunes. Simply open iTunes iTunes Preferences Import Settings (Under General) Import Using: WAV Encoder (Or AIFF Encoder).
Right click any song or audio file in iTunes, and select 'Create WAV Version (Or Create AIFF Version)'. The converted file will be in your iTunes folder (Not the same folder that the original music was in). Click 'Get info' on the song/sample to find out exactly where the file is located for importing into Reason. Note: I realize that the video of my face was covering iTunes when I right clicked the song to create a Wav version. I apologize about that. As well, I apologize about the crackling audio that you hear throughout the video. About The Writer My name is Andrew Muller.

Course Transcript The NN-XT device, like its counterpart, Thor, maybe the most advanced sampler built to date. It allows multi-sample patches with velocity switching available for nearly every velocity that MIDI transmits.
The synthesizer engine can be individualized for every single sample in the patch. While this is an absolutely insane amount of power and control over the sound recordings, Reason makes it easy to program with tools like Grouping and Multi-Selection. Additional features include Velocity Fade In and Fade Out to smoothly transition between velocity layers, and External Control Mapping right in the patch to allow faders in your controller to alter the patch in meaningful ways. To showcase NN-XT, I'll unfold the Parameter section so we can see more of what's going on. Also, instead of browsing the Factory sound bank, I want to browse the included Orkester sound bank and grab some Strings. Let's choose Violins and long violins.
